Central Park is a modern service with smooth and elegant lines that follows its basic concept consistently in all the elements: all objects of the service are based on segments of a circle and each lip is cut by a circle segment. This gives an unusual impression and makes high demands on the production process. Primarily, it states and enjoys a unique position in the market. With the curved line of the edge the basic concept of Central Park is clearly visible in the cups. This kind of edge is unique so far and highly poetic: It implies hands cupped together for drinking from a stream. Bowls: The basic principle of radial cuts also defines the form of the bowls, but this time the cut has moved away from the centre. The edge of the bowls is therefore not on one consistent level so that all seizes can nest inside each other while being easy to grab. The bowls are the only objects that do not have a symmetrical form – this gives the service a very special dynamic. Plates: One of the premises for this series was that it had to be possible to produce the plates on rotating machines. So the plates had to have a symmetrical form. But with the radial cut of the edge they become slightly oval and therefore distinctive in their appearance.
